REIF - OVERVIEW & CONTEXT
The economy is hampered due to the Covid-19 negative impacts like job loss, business closure, general economic slowdown, on his economy and it is pessimist on their economic goal achievement for this fiscal year. Exercising judgment consistent with relevant auditing and accounting standards in the COVID-19 environment is complex, and the story of COVID-19’s impact on financial markets will not be complete if told from the future alone.
The questions that come are what will be the long-term effects of this pandemic? And how can the financial sector see to solve this?
ABOUT THE RWANDA EQUITY INVESTMENT FORUM & EXPO
The forum will bring together financial institutions and experts, credit unions, cooperatives, microfinance, banks, trustees, institutional representatives, money managers and financial consultants, microfinance, banks, UN Agencies and International Organisations, etc to consider alternative investments strategies and opportunities. There is huge potential in leveraging the expertise of both development and finance stakeholders towards a common goal: achieving sustainable development without leaving anyone behind. Rwanda Equity Investment Forum is the way forward with focus on financial solutions and mechanisms that will create scalable and effective ways of channeling both private money from the global financial markets and public resources towards solving pressing global problems.
This concept incorporates two distinct facets: first, innovative financing is a complementary source of capital to development aid; and second, innovative financing is a way of making development more effective and efficient by linking financing to results, redistributing risk, improving the availability of working capital, and leveraging technology.
